CD Intake Counselor-Full Time

Description: CD Intake Counselor is to provide evaluation and assessment, and administrative direction focused in the area of chemical dependency and co-occurring psychological disorders for adolescents. Focus area is primarily within CD Services residential programs but assessment and consultation services will be provided within the entire Treatment Services Branch as necessary. This Counselor will be responsible for coordination of admissions into the residential programs, knowledge of admissions protocol and paperwork essential. An understanding of multiple funding sources and insurance a must. Candidate must have excellent customer relations skills regularly communicating with referrals, parents, and clients. A Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Services Field and two years related experience is required. The Counselor must be certified with Iowa Board of Certification or obtain certification within two years of employment. Strong background in assessment of chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health disorders and the ability to apply placement criteria, continued stay criteria, and managed care levels of care.
