  • National Recovery Month National Recovery Month is an observance that educates Americans on the fact that addiction treatment and mental health services can enable those with a substance use disorder and/or mental health problem to live a healthy and rewarding life. Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.
  • Service to Others in Sobriety  - The Service to Others in Sobriety (SOS) questionnaire was developed by Dr. Maria Pagano out of the Helping Other Live Sober Research Lab in the Department of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University. It is a 12 item self assesment questionare that reflects acts of good citizenship as a member of a 12-step program, formal service positions available in 12-step programs of recovery, and AAH activities involving the transmission of one's personal experience to another. The questionnaire has been validated for use in both adolsecents as well as adults and is applicable to people of all races, socioeconomic classes, and religions.
