Community How To Guides On Underage Drinking

These Guides address fundamental components of planning and implementing a comprehensive underage drinking prevention program. They are designed to be brief, easy to read, and easy to use. Each guide contains a resource section to assist readers in obtaining additional and detailed information about the topics covered in that guide. Included are tools and resources to help you form effective partnerships, assess community assets, understand risk factors and protective factors, generate maps of local and Federal resources, and search for evidence-based youth programs.

Community Anti-Drug Coalition

CADCA's mission is to build and strengthen the capacity of community coalitions to create safe, healthy and drug-free communities. The organization supports its members with technical assistance and training, public policy, media strategies and marketing programs, conferences and special events.

CADCA’s Support 21 Community Toolkit

The Amethyst Initiative, which seeks to revisit the debate on the legal drinking age and encourages lawmakers to lower it, generated media coverage and sparked a public debate on the merits of lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18. CADCA joined MADD in opposing the initiative and is urging grassroots prevention organizations to launch a community-wide educational campaign to shed light on the importance of keeping the drinking age at 21.

An Iowa web site designed to help you learn more about drug endangered children and how to help them. Iowa's drug endangered children are often found to be living in deplorable conditions, neglected beyond imagination, and suffering at the hands of parents who use drugs.

Promoting community health and development by connecting people, ideas and resources. Provides over 7,000 pages of practical skill-building information on over 250 different topics. Topic sections include step-by-step instruction, examples, check-lists, and related resources.

Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free

An initiative of a unique coalition of agencies and organizations to prevent the use of alcohol by children ages 9 to 15. It is the only national effort that focuses on alcohol use in this age group.

Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY) at Georgetown University

CAMY monitors the marketing practices of the alcohol industry to focus attention and action on industry practices that jeopardize the health and safety of America's youth. Reducing high rates of underage alcohol consumption and the suffering caused by alcohol-related injuries and deaths among young people requires using the public health strategies of limiting the access to and the appeal of alcohol to underage persons.

Meth Action Clearinghouse

The National Association of Counties' (NACO) clearinghouse of information on methamphetamines. The website has results of research and surveys, updates on federal legislation and advocacy, new releases, and other resources. NACo is committed to raising public awareness about and helping counties respond to the nation’s methamphetamine drug epidemic.

Meth 360

A community-based meth prevention program uniting law enforcement officers with treatment and prevention professionals to deliver multimedia presentations to groups of concerned citizens, parents and community leaders.
