Seeks to provide a unified community effort for sharing resources, increasing awareness of substance abuse through education, building relationships, and advocating for people affected by substance abuse.

Community How To Guides On Underage Drinking

These Guides address fundamental components of planning and implementing a comprehensive underage drinking prevention program. They are designed to be brief, easy to read, and easy to use. Each guide contains a resource section to assist readers in obtaining additional and detailed information about the topics covered in that guide. The appendices include useful tools for each topic area that provide coalitions and organizations with a jump-start in their planning and implementation activities

Included are tools and resources to help you form effective partnerships, assess community assets, understand risk factors and protective factors, generate maps of local and Federal resources, and search for evidence-based youth programs.

Community Anti-Drug Coalition

CADCA's mission is to build and strengthen the capacity of community coalitions to create safe, healthy and drug-free communities. The organization supports its members with technical assistance and training, public policy, media strategies and marketing programs, conferences and special events.

Faces & Voices Community Listening Forum Toolkit

This toolkit has all the information you'll need to organize an event in your community. The Toolkit was developed using the experiences hosting four statewide Community Listening Forums with recovery community organizations in 2010 and 2011. Community Listening Forums are an opportunity for the recovery community to make its voice heard - raising awareness about important issues and developing support for taking action.

CADCA’s Support 21 Community Toolkit

The Amethyst Initiative, which seeks to revisit the debate on the legal drinking age and encourages lawmakers to lower it, generated media coverage and sparked a public debate on the merits of lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18. CADCA joined MADD in opposing the initiative and is urging grassroots prevention organizations to launch a community-wide educational campaign to shed light on the importance of keeping the drinking age at 21.

Drugs Hurt Kids

An Iowa web site designed to help you learn more about drug endangered children and how to help them. Iowa's drug endangered children are often found to be living in deplorable conditions, neglected beyond imagination, and suffering at the hands of parents who use drugs.

Community Toolbox

Promoting community health and development by connecting people, ideas and resources. Provides over 7,000 pages of practical skill-building information on over 250 different topics. Topic sections include step-by-step instruction, examples, check-lists, and related resources.

Stop Bullying.gov

HHS and Dept of Education sponsored site has current resources for children, parents, educators, and communities to take action to prevent and respond to bullying.

Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free

An initiative of a unique coalition of agencies and organizations to prevent the use of alcohol by children ages 9 to 15. It is the only national effort that focuses on alcohol use in this age group.

Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY) at Georgetown University

CAMY monitors the marketing practices of the alcohol industry to focus attention and action on industry practices that jeopardize the health and safety of America's youth. Reducing high rates of underage alcohol consumption and the suffering caused by alcohol-related injuries and deaths among young people requires using the public health strategies of limiting the access to and the appeal of alcohol to underage persons.

PACT360

A community program that educates parents on why teens use drugs and alcohol, what you can do to protect them, how to communicate with them, monitor their activities, spot drug/alcohol use, and what you should do when you find it. From  The Partnership.

Play Healthy

This program introduces parents and coaches to the risks and dangers of steroid and performance enhancing substance (PES) use. The Play Healthy presentation empowers parents with tips and tools to help their children avoid PES abuse. The Play Healthy presentation can be co-delivered by coaches, athletic directors, involved parents, and law enforcement, prevention, and treatment professionals. From The Partnership.

America's Promise Alliance

The Alliance for Youth is mobilizing people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of our nation's youth. Communities of Promise are forming diverse grassroots coalitions among the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to create a web of support that increases resources and opportunities for young people who need them.

Iowa Collaboration for Youth Development

Every Iowa youth has something valuable to contribute to our state. The Iowa Collaboration for Youth Development, working with public and private organizations throughout the state, is promoting opportunities for youth to develop the competencies and connections to contribute to their communities.
